Agritech projects plant seeds for B.C. job growth, food security

The B.C. Centre for Agritech Innovation (BCCAI) is funding 13 new projects with a total investment of $2 million to bolster local food production, create jobs, and develop new technologies. Announced at the 2024 Pacific Agriculture Show, these initiatives address critical challenges in food production such as soil health and pest management, and support Indigenous food sovereignty. One project includes BW Global Structures Incorporated's innovative greenhouse methods, projected to generate 16 new jobs in Abbotsford. The BCCAI efforts align with the StrongerBC Economic Plan, promoting a sustainable and resilient agriculture sector in British Columbia.
