The provincial government announced $1.6 million in agritech grants for four Abbotsford projects. During a virtual meeting with Premier John Horgan and Abbotsford-Mission MLA Pam Alexis, representatives from i-Open Technologies, BW Global, Trident Processes, and Bakerview EcoDairy discussed their funded initiatives. i-Open Technologies received $500,000 to develop Agrilyze, a precision agriculture platform. BW Global also received $500,000 for its Better World Innovation Centre, a collaborative regenerative farm. Trident Processes was awarded $410,000 to explore a manure-processing plant, while Bakerview EcoDairy received $230,000 to pilot a blockchain-based system for tracking beef products. These grants aim to enhance B.C.'s agricultural industry, fostering innovation and economic growth as part of the StrongerBC: BC’s Economic Recovery Plan.
