100% Sealed Facility
Our BW FREEFLOW Greenhouse has one of the tightest covering systems for air permeability on the market. Utilizing forced air ventilation and not having roof vents creates an extremely predictable, damage resistant structure, one that can be controlled to much tighter tolerances.
Forced Air Ventilation – No Roof Vents.
Roof vents are extremely damage prone, leak over time and require continual maintenance. When examining different roof vent frame designs, BW GLOBAL saw this common feature as a liability and a point of endless maintenance and / or leaks. There are extra and ongoing maintenance costs, disruptions to operations and possible invalidation of research if damaged badly. Trying to get a lift into position to repair a vent from the inside can be nearly impossible when there are growing benches or other equipment in the Greenhouse bay.
Ultra-High Light Diffusion
Our SolarSoft polycarbonate has one of the best light transmission to light diffusion ratios. This Ultra-High Light Diffusion (95%) eliminates any hard shadowing in the Greenhouse. As a result, the unique light qualities within the Greenhouse allows for stronger growth in low light conditions. We were able to grow papayas (a tropical fruit) in rainy British Columbia during the middle of winter without any supplemental lighting. The total surface area of the BW FREEFLOW Greenhouse covered in this Ultra-High Diffusion Polycarbonate Greenhouse acts like a solar collector, distributing light evenly within the plants’ canopy and has been shown to improve crop yields by 40-60% of market grade produce over typical polyethylene coveringslifetime costs for maintenance.
